ASHEBORO — An assault led to the arrest of an Asheboro woman, who was then jailed without bond on Friday.
According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 2000 block of Mill Pond Drive near Caraway Speedway in Asheboro on Friday in reference to a fight.
Upon arrival, a victim with visible injuries was located in the driveway. Following investigation, Misty Nicole Hurley, 44, Mill Pond Drive, Asheboro, was taken into custody for the assault.
During a subsequent search of Hurley, heroin, marijuana, US currency and paraphernalia were located. She was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center.
Hurley was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver heroin, felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
No bond was given based on the assault being domestic violence related.
A first appearance has been scheduled for May 4 in Randolph County District Court.
