A Marietta man is behind bars on several drug charges after police discovered nearly 17 pounds of marijuana, about 2.7 pounds of THC edibles and 35 grams of psilocybin mushrooms during a search of his apartment, authorities said.
Justin Karas Baron, 39, was arrested Saturday after Marietta police executed a search warrant at The Falls at Sope Creek apartments on Roswell Road.
According to Baron’s warrants, authorities also discovered a small amount of THC oil that he was not licensed to possess.
The 17 pounds of marijuana were discovered inside a bedroom closet along with some of the psychedelic mushrooms, authorities said. Officers discovered additional mushrooms hidden inside a kitchen cabinet along with more than 1,200 grams of THC edibles, Baron’s warrant said.
The 39-year-old reportedly admitted the drugs were his after being read his Miranda rights. He faces two counts of marijuana trafficking, possession of THC oil and three counts of possession of a Schedule 1 drug with intent to distribute, jail records show.
Baron remains held at the Cobb County jail without bond.
