Two firearms, a Glock 9mm pistol as well as a Smith and Wesson .38mm revolver, were seized during a police operation by officers of the Northern Division.
The operation took place on Friday between 5.30 pm and 9 pm, and was spearheaded by Snr Supt David, with assistance from Insp Boodoo and Sgt Peters.
During the operation, officers received intelligence which led them to a home along Thomas Trace Arouca.
Searches were conducted and the Glock pistol, outfitted with 10 rounds of ammunition, was found and seized.
No one was arrested.
The officers then went to Garden Village, D’Abadie, where the revolver was recovered in a bushy area.
It was not loaded.
No one was arrested in connection with this find either.
However, one man was held in Oropune Gardens, Piarco, on outstanding warrants.
Police said the suspect was also a man who was wanted in connection with several shooting incidents in the district.
In an unrelated police exercise in El Socorro, lawmen found and seized a loaded firearm.
The weapon, police said, was a revolver loaded with six rounds of ammunition.
It was found in an abandoned lot of land on Friday night by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force.
No one was held in connection with the find.
Police also seized a quantity of marijuana in the San Juan and Morvant districts.
The drugs, which were estimated at over 60 grammes, resulted in the arrest of one man.
As a result, police are once again reminding citizens that current legislation for marijuana possession only allows persons to have up to 30 grammes, and up to four marijuana plants per household.
The exercise was supervised by Snr Supt Phillip, Supt Maynard Wilson, Supt Roger Alexander, and included Sgt Martin, Cpl Daniel, Cpl Duncan and others.
