Ponce de Leon had the right idea. When it comes to aging, most people would gladly try anything that could slow the process down. Unfortunately, skeptics will always try to convince you that this is impossible. If it were so easy, they argue, wouldn’t it have already been discovered? That’s exactly where scientific discoveries, like the role of telomeres in cell aging, came to give us hope. Now, however, it seems scientists at Dolce Cann Global, an Australian cannabis group, may have found the answer.
Researchers at the company announced recently that their new cannabis strains, packed with beneficial CBD and THC, hold the proverbial cure. These new cannabinoid strains are much more effective at controlling inflammation than conventional cannabis. And, it turns out they also provide a slew of other health benefits, including anti-aging!
The new cannabinoid strains use advanced delivery systems to make their effects much more potent, hence slowing down aging
Because of the need for better drug absorption, the team behind the breakthrough initially needed a better delivery system. In pharmaceutical terminology, this refers to the way drugs reach the target cells. For instance, some drugs are broken down in the gut then released into the bloodstream. Others (like CBD) can enter the lungs via inhalants, and exert their effects directly. The goal is to maximize bioavailability – that is, the percentage of drug taken that is used up and not excreted.
This is precisely why the Dolce Cann Global team’s work is so exceptional. They implemented several cutting-edge pathways to maximize delivery. These include ultrasonic diffusion and magnetic misting. Don’t worry, these complex processes may sound like jargon, but it’s interesting how completely game-changing they are. More and more cannabis companies could stand to learn from them!
To explain, ultrasonic diffusion basically makes the cannabinoids better to use in a spray-on form. This is because the small droplets, over 50 times more microscopic than regular spray droplets, enter pores more effectively. This means that they should leave less contaminants and residue behind. No longer do you need to worry about the greasy film leftover from applying a cream. On the other hand, magnetic misting seeks to boost the skin absorption process by reducing the fluid’s surface tension. No doubt this will make for a fine, premium anti-aging cream.
The cannabinoids also have other health benefits like combating acne, blemishes and even arthritis
One of the best things about CBD and THC is how diverse they are. You can cook them into food for a pleasant high, you can use hemp fibers to make fabric, and this latest breakthrough shows how you can treat several serious diseases. In this case, the researchers showed that the new strains produced (tested on human cell lines) prevented harmful scarring and loss of pigmentation in skin. That means people suffering from severe and chronic acne, burns and rashes would benefit from the anti-inflammatory properties.
Furthermore, the role of CBD in treating arthritis has been known for some time. However, such treatments typically involve both oral and topical applications of cannabinoids. While CBD oil is therefore a tried-and-tested remedy, having a CBD spray changes things. The team’s work showed that even when directly applied, patients with arthritis would experience relief very quickly. Not to mention that sprays are easier to carry, quicker to apply and ready to use right out the canister.
Talks are underway for Wellfully, a health product company, to bring Dolce Cann Global’s product to market
Wellfully has announced its interest in the team’s work, and aims to partner up to release their product. As of yet, the cannabinoid strains are set to begin clinical trials in 2021. However, there is much excitement for both parties, and the initial results show great promise. Once again, cannabis is a win-win for everyone!
